Tarah Townsend
Tarah Townsend brings over 25 years of non-profit experience to Excellence and Advancement Foundation. A native Bostonian, Tarah received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. Upon graduation, she worked as an Upward Bound Music and English teacher in Roxbury and New Bedford, Massachusetts while performing with the Handel and Haydn Society Chorus. Tarah moved to Austin in 1997 and joined the Austin Choral Un-ion as a Soprano and board member. She also served on the Community Montessori School board, concentrating on fundraising for scholarships and school programs. Tarah joined the Excellence and Advancement Foundation in 2015 and served as board president for three years. She currently serves as the Foundation’s treasurer. Tarah is married to David Townsend and is the mother of three wonderful children; Brianna, Benjamin, and Douglas.
